Hydrate skin with our new ingestible Hyaluronic Acid Serum
We’re always looking to create innovative beauty solutions to help you look and feel your best. Given that dry, sensitive skin is the most common skin disorder impacting about 50% of people around the world, we wanted to create a formula to help moisturise skin – from the inside out, of course. [1]
Our newest ingestible, Hyaluronic Complex, is a targeted treatment for dry and dehydrated skin. The acai berry flavoured ingestible hyaluronic acid serum helps hydrate skin, boost skin water content, soothe dryness and strengthen the skin barrier. Skin-enhancing actives like gotu kola, Vitamin C, zinc, CoQ10, biotin and nicotinamide boost the formula for a surge of hydration.
If you’re dealing with dry skin but don’t know where to start, Vida Glow Founder Anna Lahey is here to answer your most-asked questions about our new skin-hydrating formula.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid, commonly called HA, is a naturally produced molecule in the body, responsible for keeping skin hydrated, soft and elastic. 50% of our body’s natural hyaluronic acid reserves are actually in our skin.
Similar to collagen, the body’s production of hyaluronic acid declines with age. As a result, the skin barrier can become compromised and our skin starts to look and feel less hydrated.
Isn’t hyaluronic acid only a topical? How can you ingest hyaluronic acid safely?
Topical hyaluronic acid used in your daily serums and moisturising, while great, can only offer hydration to the topmost layer of the skin. Whereas ingestible hyaluronic acid has a far more systemic effect. It’s transferred by the blood and lymphatic system, meaning it has a much greater impact on the body.
By ingesting hyaluronic acid, its presence in your body actually stimulates fibroblasts to produce more naturally occurring hyaluronic acid in the body, resulting in a soft, more hydrated complexion.
We have worked so hard, partnering with a team of leading scientists in nutraceuticals to create a world-class ingestible serum that offers safe and tangible results.
Who should take this?
Hyaluronic Complex is a specialised treatment that redefines how we think about skin hydration. Our Acai Berry flavoured ampoule is specifically formulated to target and treat those with chronically dry skin and anyone experiencing periods of intense skin dehydration or irritation due to seasonal changes, travel or harsh topicals.
Do you take collagen and Hyaluronic Complex together?
Yes, absolutely! They both play such different yet crucial roles in keeping your skin healthy, hydrated and smooth.
When our skin has high concentrations of both hyaluronic acid and collagen, it’s incredibly plump, smooth and highly elastic. Yet both natural stores decline with age, which is why supplementation is essential for maintaining a glowy, youthful complexion.
Which is better, collagen or hyaluronic acid?
When taken together, hydrolysed marine collagen and Hyaluronic Complex actually work in synergy, promoting each other and enhancing efficacy.
How long will it take to see results of taking hyaluronic acid?
We are passionate about creating ingestible formulations that deliver tangible, visible results, and Hyaluronic Complex is no different.
We recommend taking 1 to 2 ampoules of Hyaluronic Complex for at least 6 weeks for the full results. What’s great about this specialised treatment is that the effects can continue after supplementation is stopped, with research showing a significant improvement to skin up to 2 weeks after you stop taking ingestible hyaluronic acid.
How often do I need to take hyaluronic acid?
We have pre-measured the optimal dosage of ingestible hyaluronic acid and 8 other skin-nourishing actives into each individual ampoule. We recommend taking 1 to 2 ampoules per day, each containing 100mg of hyaluronic acid.
Depending on your skin’s hydration needs, supplementation can be periodic when intensive hydration is needed, or continuous for those with chronic skin dryness.
Do I need to mix Hyaluronic Complex in water before drinking?
Absolutely not! We have formulated the product to be taken as is, directly from the ampoule. It’s perfect for a busy lifestyle, designed to accompany you for when you need it most.
What does Hyaluronic Complex taste like?
The formulation is an Acai Berry flavour, but it isn’t overpowering or overly sweet. It’s completely safe to take at room temperature, but we enjoy it chilled straight from the fridge.
We worked through a few different consistencies and landed with quite a smooth, slightly thick texture – which I really enjoy.
Unlike our collagen range, Hyaluronic Complex is not heat-stable, so it should not be mixed with hot drinks or foods.
For anyone struggling with dry or dehydrated skin, Hyaluronic Complex will transform the way you moisturise. We can’t wait for you to try it.
